  5. This is a prog rock album worth tracking down. My problem with a lot of classic-era prog rock is that bands lean hard into technical prowess and their songwriting hurts. With this Leviathan release, the songwriting is strong. There's a lot of atmosphere and heart on this album.

  7. Wrest probably earns it's name from a combination of massive developing effort and a inquestionable expression. You easily get thrown from despair and sadness to a urging rage and hating through the brilliant drumming and riffage; unmercifully violent, claustrophobic and vicious, to suddenly evoke large spaces full of contempt and emptiness.
  8. Leviathan are a forgotten one-shot American band formed in the early seventies in Memphis, although most of the members hailed from Little Rock, Arkansas. They recorded this album shortly before scoring a major coup as opening act for an Electric Light Orchestra American tour (‘Face the Music’, I believe), then pretty much vanished after that.
